Kyoto: finding the paths

Kyoto is charming and has over 80,000 shrines dedicated to various deities and historical events.  Down the street there is a shrine for those suffering from foot and hip pain, so I may return before returning home.

A beautiful city with a history steeped in emperors, samurai, Buddhism etc etc.

Some of the sights we’ve seen so far:

At the Nishiki Market

In the Gion district (geisha district)

Perhaps one of the most amazing places I’ve ever seen was the Sanjusangen-do.  It is the Hall of 1,001 Buddhas, all covered in gold leaf.  No photos can be taken, so I bought postcards in the gift shop.
