The way to Arcos de la Frontera

We explored the ways to arrive in Arcos de la Frontera, a lovely mountain town.  There’s more than one or two ways to get most anywhere 🥾🚂

The traditions of Lent here include robed persons in procession, thus the statues honoring this annual event. We may see this while here & in Jerez de la Frontera.  As an American, these images conjure up horrific violence towards African Americans by the Klan and must admit it’s hard to shake that connection.  The symbols make me cautious about this local tradition.

Along our path today, we went through the Jerez de la Frontera train station & looked up to see these marvelous tiled party scenes!  No wonder the inquisition was worried about this area!
